Last summer was super warm and dry. Distant traveling is not such attractive as long as a mediterranian weather is right on your doorstep. The fruit from our garden was sugar-sweet and the roses bloomed unusually until late autumn.

Up to date we still have a mild winter condition although the alps is being covered deep in snow. Now an then the annual storms of the North Sea show its best. The constant hissing and howling of the wind together with the rattling of the window roller blind make a strange concerto of noises. The few streets of the village are deserted. Most of the local shops and restaurants are closed for the winter break. The cold and damp of rainy days let you feel sentimental. Then the sky clears up, the sun comes out and a sea of twinkling stars in the deep darkness of the night. At full moon the bright moonlight spreads over the nearly treeless field up to the end of the horizon. Well lit and quiet that you may read in the silent night.

All these take place in the backyard of our house. We would miss it dearly, should we have to live in a large city one day again.
