Our second last stop: Inle lake, 30 minutes flight from Mandalay. This time we fly in the afternoon because two of us do not feel well. Although booked for the morning flight we just do not turn up at the airport. Later on, when the sickness get better, the travel agent next door reissue our air ticket for an additional fee of 10 USD each, what a courtesy!
Inle lake at 9am
Airport for Inle lake is in Heho, appr. 25 km away from Nyaung Shwe, township centre for the lake adminstration where we have our accomodation with pool for few days.
here are many hotels, restaurants, banks with cash maschine and all kind of shops serving the visitors in town and a local central market which opens daily.
Speed boat to get around
From the harbour there are speed boats taking you to the lake for sightseeing. Very convenient for arrangements.

Dry season and low water level currently. It is just underneath the knee in the side canals but can rise up to 1,5 m higher in rainy season
