Cerro San Cristóbal

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

San Cristóbal is a hilly park on the outskirts and north of Santiago. The southern entrance is not far away from the Metro station Baquedano. It is a 12 km walk up & down the hill until we get back into town centre. Half way through we get to the statue of the Virgin Mary on top of the hill with adjacent church. Form there we have a panoramic view of Santiago.

Another exciting experience today: a slight earth quake. We were in our room on the 15th floor of our Hotel. The whole building was rumbling for about 30 sec. It was also a hilarious feeling, particularly when two of us were sitting on the loo to celebrate our first earth quake of life!
Another more pleasant new experience: Mote con huesillo. A traditional Chilean non-alcoholic sweet drink made of wheat and peaches.
