Algarve, Portugal (October)

Unexpectedly we have a week off and decide in last minute for Algarve. It is much easier to get around nowadays. Thank you, United States of Europe! No passport, no visa, no currency exchange. Just an ID card is sufficient.

View from our appartement, Portimao

The mediterranean coast of Algarve is fully developed for tourism. We stay in a 4 stars appartement in a modern multi-storey building.

Along the coast you will find many interesting places and beautiful beaches. Lagos, a seaport and the eponym of the Nigerian megacity Lagos where the slaves were formerly shipped to its Portugal counterpart.

Historical slave market, Lagos. First of its kind in Europe

Ponta da Piedade

Flimsy attempt of the car rental at the Faro airport to charge us an express service fee. We haven´t prebooked it and we were neither late nor in rush. A complaint at the broker company brought the money back. Otherwise friendly Portugese and beach weather at the end of October.
