Our plane landed safely and in time in Marrakech. Car rental at the airport: we need to ask around to find the counter and finally the hand-over of the car itself as there were no signs guiding us to the proper places. But people are friendly and willing to help.

Before leaving the airport we quickly fill our pocket with some Dirham (Morrocan money) from the ATM by credit card because Dirham is not available outside the country. Current Exchange rate approx. 1 Euro = 10 Dirham.
1l Diesel = 9,40 Dirham
From there it takes us only ten minutes to drive to our hotel which lies between Gare de Marrakech and Palais de congrès on the Boulevard Mohammed VI. All goes smoothly and straight forward. It takes a while to get used to the Morrocan fellow drivers but this is another issue and for sure part of the adventure program.
The free app Osmand is a helpful driving navigator which works well on our a little bit outdated Android 4.2 tablet we bought in 2013 for our driving in Jordan. HERE should be a better alternative but it does not run on our tablet (need higher specs?)
