Its historic quarter is declared as\u00a0an UNESCO World Heritage<\/p>\n<p>Today Valpara\u00edso remains a one of the cultural and administrative centres of Chile. We get there in a rainy morning. Right in the centre at Plaza Sotomayor and metro station Puerto. We leave the car in the underground car park to explore the historic\u00a0 centre of Valpara\u00edso on foot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sub.praxis-duong.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0171.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1264 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/sub.praxis-duong.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0171-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0171-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0171-768x511.jpg 768w, http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0171-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0171-1200x798.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAscensor\u00a0El Peral, funicular railways of Valpara\u00edso<\/p>\n<p>From the seaport the town stretches over several hills with colourfully painted houses.\u00a0Its historic part\u00a0lies on the hills cerro Alegre and cerro Concepci\u00f3n. Two hundred metres\u00a0from Plaza Sotomayor the ascensor El Peral, built in 1901, takes us up to\u00a0cerro Alegre for 100 CLP (15 Eurocents) per person.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sub.praxis-duong.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0181.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1265 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/sub.praxis-duong.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0181-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0181-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0181-768x511.jpg 768w, http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0181-1024x681.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ktdtravel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/DSC_0181-1200x798.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nOne of the many painted\u00a0house walls<\/p>\n<p>On top there are bars, cafes, shops, boutiques and ateliers in the narrow streets running up and down the hills.\u00a0Few of them are well preserved and\u00a0picturesque. We thought!\u00a0The whole town of Vinar del mar is just a traffic jam. From the entering until we leave it, stop and go all the way long. A modern town with many tower blocks along the beach. Overcrowded by holidaymakers. Shops and entertainments.
